The Penedès
The Penedès area, 50 km from Barcelona, has a long tradition in the production of wine and cava, one of the main activities of the region and producer of 98% of all Spanish cava.
In Penedès, for many years, cava has been produced by "blending" the wines from the three native varieties of white grapes in the area: xarel·lo, macabeo and parellada.
From the hills that surround the Font-Rubí and Castellví de la Marca region, in the center of Penedès, the vineyards are witnesses to the agricultural and economic potential of the area that holds the secrets of cava.
