LUDENS is a family business, run by winemaker Maura Rovira.
The Sans-Rovira family has 50 hectares of vineyard where the native varieties of the Penedès are grown: xarel·lo, macabeo and parellada.
In 1984 the total production of cava was 30,000 bottles of cava per year, currently standing at more than 150,000, in constant growth with exports to Europe, the United States and China.
By combining traditional production methods and knowledge of the most advanced techniques, LUDENS produces a high quality cava, highly valued nationally and internationally.
The LUDENS winery is located next to the Masia Grabuac dating from 1794. At the beginning of the 20th century it was renovated by the famous modernist architect Puig i Cadafalch, who designed the tower attached to the farmhouse, with a circular plan and with glazed ceramic decorations, It stands out along with other modernist elements such as ceramics, worked with the mosaic technique, wrought iron balconies and leaded stained glass windows with floral and vegetable motifs.
The gardens and green spaces that surround the Grabuac farmhouse and the winery, this emblematic set of Modernism in the Penedès, create a romantic and historical climate of great tourist and cultural interest, worth visiting.
